web design services
by a fine artist
for fine artists
We artists know that a good gallery is unobtrusive and designed with care to show our work in it’s best light. Seeing our art online is the next best thing, and as close as many people will come, to seeing it in person. Our online gallery should be as restrained and carefully designed as our in-real-life gallery. It must enhance our art and allow it to shine. After all, it’s our art, not the gallery that is the star of the show!
As your creative practice evolves and work sells, artwork will move in and out of your website, just as it does in a physical gallery. Updating your site should be simple and stress-free.
Recommended Site Structure
I recommend keeping your website simple and focused:
Artwork
One gallery or several galleries featuring your work.
About
Your bio, artist statement, CV, or exhibition history, and an optional photo.
Contact
A contact form that sends inquiries directly to the email address of your choice.
How I Can Help
I can help you:
Choose and register a domain name
Find a platform for hosting your website
Design and set up your website
Add or remove artwork
Update your About page
Make other changes as needed
Learn how to manage the site yourself
Everyone has a different comfort level with technology. You may want to maintain the site yourself, or you may prefer to focus on making art and leave the updates to someone else. We can choose an approach that works best for you.
If you already have a website, I can also help update it, reorganize it, maintain it, or move it to another platform.
What You’ll Provide
Images of your artwork
Titles, dimensions, materials, and descriptions
Your bio, artist statement, CV, or exhibition list
An optional photo of you
Your Options
I can set up an artist website for you using the recommended site structure, with several package options available below.
For all three options, I can show you how to add images, artwork descriptions, and About page text yourself, or I can help maintain the site for you as needed.
I can also create a fully custom website or expand one of the standard packages with additional features tailored to your needs.
If you already have a website, I’m happy to help with maintenance, updates, or improvements. Work outside the package pricing is available at my hourly rate of $100 per hour.
Let’s set up a time to talk through the best approach for getting your artist website launched. Please complete the contact form at the bottom of the page, and I’ll make every effort to respond within 24 hours.
